Sandpiper Condos in Palm Desert

This non-gated community of 396 condominiums was built from 1959 to 1970 and range in size from 1,000 to 3,000 square feet. It is located on the west end of El Paseo Dr in an area west of Monterey Ave in South Palm Desert. Some say the Sandpiper is the best mid-century modern condo development in Palm Desert and is one of the first condominium projects built in the Coachella Valley. It was designed by architect William Krisel. Community pools/spas, putting green and wide green belts with lush landscaping on 55 acres of prime real estate.  Sandpiper units are arranged in pin-wheel buildings specifically oriented to offer mountain views while ensuring privacy. With recent historical designation by the city these home are eligible for property tax reduction under the Mills Act. There is an HOA.
